I've heard a few Harry Niles where Murphy is a librarian friend of Harry's. Does anyone know in what episode she became his assistant?

Actually Murphy's part in the Twenty Dollar Trackdown was meant as a one off appearance. This show is from the original 1970's series. It wsn't until 1991 when Jim brought the show back that Murph made another showing. She didn't become his assistant/secretary/bookkeeper/moral compass/partner until Harry had moved to Seattle. She followed him and got a job at the Queen Anne branch of the Seattle library (said branch is still in operation in the same building Murphy would have worked at). I won't be back in the office until Monday so if Stewart Wright sees this he may be able to say which episode she actually went to work for Harry in the office _________________ Larry Albert |

I believe the Harry Nile episode to which Larry is referring is "The Meatloaf Matter"
which first aired on The KIRO Mystery Playhouse - 11/06/1994.
In this episode, Murphy
moves out of Osterman's boarding house leaving no forwarding address,
quits her job at the library,
and
goes to work for a competing Private Investigator - Ward Sheperdton.
At the end of the episode, Murphy is fired by Sheperdton,
but she receives another job offer.
"The Meatloaf Matter" has not been aired on Imagination Theatre, but is available on CD in
Volume 11 of The History of Harry Nile
Signing off for now, |
